Behavioural rehabilitation for dogs experiencing anxiety, reactivity, fear or other behavioural challenges, based in Toukley and working across the Central Coast, NSW. The focus is on restoring calm, confidence and control by addressing the root cause of the behaviour rather than suppressing the symptom.
The behaviour and rehabilitation programs cover:
Every program starts with an assessment of the dog. That covers where the dog is currently at, what training it has had before, its background and history, and what you as the owner actually want to achieve.
From there the necessary training is applied — built around that specific dog and those specific goals, rather than a fixed program every dog is put through. Two dogs showing the same behaviour often need two different approaches, which is why the assessment comes first.
Aggressive, reactive or anxious behaviour requires calm leadership and clear communication, not correction alone. Programs are built around establishing control, setting clear boundaries, building obedience under distraction, reducing stress and over-stimulation, and rebuilding confidence and stability.
Every program is tailored to the individual dog's temperament and its specific triggers, because the trigger is what determines the approach. A dog barking from boredom and a dog barking from fear need two different plans.
Advanced behaviour rehabilitation aims to reduce or eliminate the need for behavioural medication by addressing the underlying triggers and teaching dogs how to respond appropriately in stressful situations. Whether that is achievable depends on the individual dog and should always be discussed alongside your vet.
Pricing is provided after an initial consultation. Behaviour cases vary widely in complexity, so a quote is given once the dog has been assessed and the scope of the program is clear.
If your dog is growling, snapping, lunging or showing signs of anxiety, the earlier a structured program starts the better the outcome. Browse the dog aggression & reactivity training program, read more on why dogs become aggressive, or get in touch to arrange an assessment.
